Ahlstrom, a Finnish fiberglass and fiberglass mat producer has informed about the ending of a fiberglass production line in its Karhula factory. This leads to 163 jobs being lost.
As the Karhula factory was the only fiberglass and fiberglass mat manufacturing facility in Finland, this leaves the boating industry in difficulties. The decision of closure affects the companies that have gotten their goods from the Karhula factory, as they now have to look abroad for their production materials. (Source: Talouselämä,18.10.11)
