Finnish Gasum Purchases LNG Company From Norway

07.03.2014

Gasum, a Finnish gas company, is buying a Norwegian liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Skangas. The deal improves the availability of LNG in Finland. Gasum is buying 51% of Skangas shares from a Norwegian company Lyse.

The gas market is expected to grow in the Nordic countries, due to marine vessels’ sulphur dioxide emission regulations which will come into effect next year in the Baltic Sea. Gasum sees that more ships will use LNG as their main fuel. (Source: www.tekniikkatalous.fi, 25.2.2014)
