Start-up Success After Nokia In Oulu

Ex Nokia engineers have found employment through establishing new businesses, which has led to growth in the ICT sector in Oulu. The city of Oulu has been involved through investments and it has paid off.

One of these companies, Haltian, is a start-up company established by ex Nokia employees, most of whom have approximately 15 years of experience in the industry. Haltian’s turnover was € 6 million last year and it employs 80 people. The company is expected to grow during 2014. Haltian’s idea is to bring mobile technology to other sectors by using the asset of knowledge and experience of mobile devices. (Source: yle.fi, 17.4.)
